Kirkpatrick Fanfare

Andrew Boysen Jr.

Kirkpatrick Fanfare was commissioned by Central Missouri State University for the dedication of the James C. Kirkpatrick Library in March, 1999. This work has a definite Irish flavor, including a strain of “Danny Boy”. The "fanfare" features driving rhythms and exciting brass figures.

Andrew Boysen, Jr. earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa in 1991. He went on to get his Master of Music degree from Northwestern University and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music. He became Director of Bands at Cary-Grove High School and conducted the Deerfield Community Concert Band. He taught at Indiana State University. Currently he is an assistant professor in the music department at the University of New Hampshire in Nashua where he conducts the wind symphony and teaches conducting, composition and orchestration.
