And the Mountains Echoed: Gloria! This work by Robert Longfield is a concert fantasia on the carol “Angels We Have Heard on High” loaded with development, embellishment, and even a fugal section.
Robert Longfield is a prolific modern composer, arranger, conductor and edu- cator. He has over 200 published works to his credit, including arrangements of many Mannheim Steamroller pieces. He has earned degrees in music from the University of Michigan and the University of Miami. He has been a music edu- cator in the public schools of Michigan and Florida for over thirty-five years. He is currently orchestra director and Chairman of the Performing Arts Department at Miami Palmetto Senior High School and conductor of the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.
