Selections from Wicked

Stephen Schwartz/arr. Jay Bocook

Selections from Wicked The musical Wicked is an alternative telling of the story of the 1939 film and 1900 book about Oz, this time from the standpoints of witches Elphaba and Glinda. The highly successful show premiered on Broadway in 2003 and continues to play there and in other venues around the world. This medley includes “No One Mourns the Wicked,” “Dancing Through Life,” “No Good Deed,” “For Good,” and “Defying Gravity.”

Stephen Schwartz (b.1948) wrote the music and lyrics. Other hits by Schwartz include the musicals Godspell and Pippin. He also wrote the lyrics for several films including Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Prince of Egypt and Enchanted. Schwartz has won three Grammy Awards and three Academy Awards, and has been nominated for six Tony Awards.
