A John Rutter Christmas
John Rutter, arr. Paul Noble
A John Rutter Christmas is a medley of “Star Carol,” “The Colours of Christmas,” “What Sweeter Music,” “Donkey Carol,” “Shepherd’s Pipe Carol” and “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day.”
John Rutter (b. 1945) is a British composer, conductor, editor, arranger and record producer, mainly of choral music. He studied and taught at Clare College, Cambridge. His setting of Psalm 150 was commissioned for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002 and he wrote a new anthem for the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in 2011. His music is eclectic, showing the influences of the traditions of the French and English choral traditions of the early 20th century, as well as of light music and American classic songwriting.
