“Three Dance Episodes” from On The Town This wartime comedy musical and movie features music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Three sailors wreak havoc as they search for love during a whirlwind 24-hour leave in New York City.
Leonard Bernstein (1918 –1990) was a composer, pianist, educator, author and humanitarian. He conducted the New York Philharmonic and other major orchestras. His honors include seven Emmys, two Tonys, 16 Grammys and an Oscar nomination. He sought to make music intelligible and enjoyable to all.
